The iconic blue sea star, inspired from many coral reef snorkelling adventures. The blue lincka (Linckia laevigata) was painted in ulrtramarine blue watercolour. This species is common on coral reefs and has been a favourite since I first saw one. When you see the blue linckia in the water they are usually all twisted and curled, clinging to a rock, which is shown in the painting.
